Fit translators

A six and four year old brother and sister in Overijse decided to ask the young guests attending their birthday parties if they would bring a few notes and coins to put in a money box instead of gifts this year. Between them, they raised almost 200 euros for the playground project. Congratulations to you both, and thank you!

An energetic team from specialist translation firm TransPerfect raised 1.411,00 euros through sponsorship for the 20km de Bruxelles. Well done to you all for this great personal effort!

In January, young cinema go-ers were treated to a special private viewing of hit children's film Benoit Brisefer complete with take-home treat bags, all thanks to the energy of the owner of Enfantillages, a beautiful children's shop in Uccle. This event raised over 7.000 euros. Many thanks to the indefatigable organiser!

Playground heros!

HUDERF's playground project has already received a great deal of support from both children and adults and it has been humbling and exciting to witness the enthusiasm and generosity of these incredible benefactors!

Here we highlight just a few of the project's supporters and say a heartfelt thank you to them and to all those that have given so graciously.

Thank you all so much!

Young philanthropists
VIP tickets

In response to a personal request, British singer/songwriter James Blunt's team kindly gave two concert tickets and VIP backstage passes to be auctioned off at a gala dinner in favour of the playground project. We are extremely grateful for this generous act as it helped us to raise over 4.000 euros!

Two young girls decided that instead of gifts from their family and godparents in honour of the first Holy Communion, they would ask for donations to the playground project and between them collected 610 euros! Thank you Mailys and Anna Louisa!

First communicants

At St. Anthony's church in Kraainem, the 2015 First Holy Communicants group were each given a tube of smarties, which they were allowed to eat (yummy!) and then encouraged to fill with one euro pieces in return for doing small jobs at home to help their parents. The children raised 807,60 euros! Well done!

Sweet jobs
Ladies host a gala!

The Ladies Circle of Wavre decided to dedicate the proceeds of their 25th anniversary gala dinner to the playground project. The theme was 'a touch of royalty' and thanks to a tombola and other fundraising efforts, the ladies raised the princely sum of 5.142, 07 euros! Many thanks, your highnesses, for this contribution!

Dinosaur Courage!

Disney/Pixar graciously allowed us to put on a special screening of its hit new film the Good Dinosaur/Le Voyage d'Arlo and Les Cines Wellington in Waterloo made this possible on Saturday 12th December! Just over 260 adults and children filled one of the 7 rooms to capacity and each received a dinosaur-themed goody bag thanks to the sponsors: Dolfin, SPA, Carrefour, La Grande Recre. Ticket sales, along with the sales of four homemade dinosaur tails raised 4,500 euros! Many thanks to Sarina de Ganay for making this all possible!

Harry Potter party!

Two schoolfriends managed to talk their mothers into hosting a Harry Potter-themed party for their 10th birthdays and decided to ask their guests to bring a small financial donation for the playground project instead of gifts. Lorelai and Sophie raised 240 euros!! Well done girls!

Book Sale!

The children of the English section maternelle in the European School Brussels III raised €500 in a book sale and voted to donate this money to the playground project. It was a totally unexpected gift and we could not be more delighted that children are supporting other children. How wonderful. Thank you!
